Omnichannel Fulfillment

What is omnichannel fulfillment?

It connects the inventory and orders split across e-commerce, stores, warehouses, and 3PLs, and ships each order from the best location. Whatever channel an order comes from, it ships from wherever the stock is. Selling store stock online, in-store pickup, and distributed shipping all come from this one idea.

You can start from “we want to sell our store stock online”.

ChallengeSound familiar?

You have the stock — just not where it sells

As channels and locations grow, inventory splits, the shipping origin stays fixed, and manual work piles up. Lost sales come from inventory and orders that sit disconnected.

Online and store inventory move separately

The e-commerce warehouse is out of stock while the same item sits in a store — or the reverse. Lost sales and markdowns happen at the same time.

Every order ships from one place

All orders ship from a central warehouse — even when the customer is next to a store. Delivery time and shipping cost never come down.

More systems, more manual work

Cart, POS, WMS, and 3PL screens don't talk to each other, so people bridge the gaps by hand. Every new channel or location adds load.

ApproachWhat changes

One view of stock, one origin decision per order

Omnichannel fulfillment does three things at once: one number for all your stock, the best origin chosen per order, and the same procedure at every location. Operations only run when all three are in place.

One number for all your stock

Stock in stores, warehouses, 3PLs, and overseas locations becomes one network — sellable wherever it sits.

Pick the origin per order

For each order, the best origin is chosen automatically from stock, destination, and location priority — and turned into a shipping instruction.

Same procedure in store and warehouse

Picking, shelving, and labels follow one procedure, so store staff ship with the same quality as a warehouse.

FAQFrequently asked questions
What is omnichannel fulfillment?

It connects the inventory and orders split across channels and locations — e-commerce, stores, warehouses, 3PLs — and ships each order from the best place. Whatever channel an order comes from, it ships from wherever the stock is, reducing stockouts and overstock at once.

How is it different from micro-fulfillment?

Micro-fulfillment is about where you hold stock — small locations close to customers. Omnichannel fulfillment is the overall system that treats inventory and orders as one across channels and locations; micro-fulfillment is one part of it.

Does it cover in-store pickup (BOPIS) and ship-from-store?

Yes. Store stock can be allocated to online orders and shipped from the store, and shoppers can see live store stock on Shopify product pages and choose in-store pickup.

How is the shipping location chosen for each order?

Among the locations that hold the item, we decide automatically from distance to the destination, shipping cost, and the priority you set for each location. You can also pin a specific product to a specific location at the SKU level. Every decision — which location, and why — is visible in the console.

Can you handle the physical operations too?

Yes. Through a partnership with a major logistics group, around 100 3PL spaces nationwide are available as logistics locations, covering inbound, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and returns. Your own stores and warehouses can be added as origins.
